Elkhorn Area Middle School Information

 

Middle School Hours:

7:30am-2:45pm

Daily Schedule:

  • 8 periods in the day

    • Academics: Social studies, Math, Science, English/Lit.

    • Allied Arts rotations: (one period per day, rotating every 6 weeks):

      • Spanish, German, Health, Art, Tech. Ed. and Computers

    • Lunch and RtI

    • Phy Ed

    • Chorus, Band or Study Hall (chosen in spring this year)

  • Periods 7 and 8 are shorter and are PE, Band, and Choir. Also this year, 1 term of PE is replaced with 6 weeks of Robotics which all students will have.

**Rotating schedules are not currently used, although that is up for discussion for next year

 

RtI

All 6th grade students participate in RtI (Response to Intervention) everyday for 30 minutes. During RtI, students participate in activities that will enhance their learning by focusing on areas for improvement and/or challenges for continued growth.

 

Extra activities available to 6th graders:

-Football (boys) Fall -Cross Country (boys and girls) Fall

-Wrestling (boys) Winter -Jazz Band

-Newspaper Club -Yearbook

-Student Council -Forensics

-Peer Mediation -Southern Lakes Anthology

-EAMS Talent Show -Battle of the Books

-Math 24/Math Team -Jump Rope Club

-Environmental Club -Project Make A Change (PMAC)

-Fuel Up for 60 (from the NFL)-- activities for EAMS students and staff to be

active, eat healthy, and make a positive difference

-Futsal- (girls and boys) indoor five on five soccer

-Elkhorn Engineering and Technology Club (E-TEC)

http://wiscareers.wisc.edu  is a career development website.  Children and adults can utilize resources that explore interests, talents and careers. 

All of the 5th grade students at Tibbets have created accounts and completed at least one interest inventory.  In middle school, students will continue to use this site for resume building and continued career exploration.  

You are able to logon and look at your child’s progress and assessment results.

The login for students is the same as they use for Odyssey and other sites at school.
